About Us
Rooted in Aroostook County
Adam and Amanda built The Tamaracks as a way to share their love of northern Maine. Adam is a registered Maine Guide, and both were raised in Aroostook County. After years away, they returned to raise their family in a rural place that feels like home.
Why Fen and Larch
The names reflect the land. Tamarack, or American Larch, is durable, beautiful, and native to local wetlands and forests. Fen refers to a groundwater-fed wetland where Tamarack often grows. Both names connect the cabins to the landscape they stand on.
Craftsmanship and Care
The cabins were designed by Amanda using rough sawn timbers harvested years earlier from the property. Their upkeep is handled entirely by the family, including their two children who help with maintenance and care for the land.
Our Philosophy
Guests are welcomed as friends. Hospitality is based on local knowledge, thoughtful guidance, and the desire to help visitors enjoy Aroostook County as much as we do.
